Menatap Salib Kristus

Lukisan: Salvador Dali, Christ of St.John of The Cross,

Jumat Agung

Tahun B

Yesaya 52:13—53:12

Ibrani 4: 14-16; 5:7-9

Yohanes 18: 1—19:42

Among you stands one whom you do not know,

the one who is coming after me; I am not worthy to untie the thong of his sandal.

The third Sunday of Advent is called the joy of Sunday. It is reflected in the opening of the antiphon: Gaudete in Domino semper” – “Rejoice in the Lord always.” To celebrate the joy of Sunday, a rose candle is lit up, and the pink liturgical vestment is worn to remind and encourage the Christian that the joy must be the spirit of those who wait for the nativity of Jesus Christ. I Corinthian 10: 14-22

Luke 6:43-49

Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’

but not do what I command?

St. Paul has reminded us of the danger of idolatry which is said as the demon. It is called a demon because its mechanism has reigned in the heart and the mind that determines all aspects of one’s life so softly without knowing and realizing that it is idolatry. Continue reading “Eucharistic Man”

The Jesus’s Calling to Matthew: The Calling for The Sacrament of Forgiveness

Painting of: Albert Birkle, Bearing THe cross, 1924

Amos 8:4-6, 9-12

Matthew 9:9-13

Those who are well do not need a physician, but the sick do.

I desire mercy, not sacrifice.

The sin is depicted by the prophet Amos as the ones who trample upon the needy and destroy the poor of the land. It means that sin is equalized with evil doings that cause suffering for others. To do evil to our fellow and also to the other creature is to do evil to God himself. Continue reading “The Jesus’s Calling to Matthew: The Calling for The Sacrament of Forgiveness”

Mazmur 15

Lukisan: Waldemar Flaig

Tamu Tuhan

15:1 Mazmur Daud.
